People I Follow
My primary teacher has been over 20 years of experience. Along the way I have been educated by a number of luminaries in the Scrum & Agile community. Here are some of my top influences.
Mike Cohn
Mike Cohn
Founder and owner of Mountain Goat Software, Mike is also the guy who first trained me in Scrum when I certified as a Scrum Master back in 2005. I have a great deal of love and respect for him although we do not always see eye to eye, I have read just about everything he has published and have used his Planning Poker cards since I first got a deck in his class (they rock).
Tobias Mayer
Tobias Mayer
Unquestionably one of my favorite Scrum practitioners! For a great example of how he thinks and what he believes check out Scrum Master or Agile Coach?
Tobias has published a collection of essays called The People’s Scrum which is one of the single most insightful book in existence about Scrum IMHO.
He continues to be a major practical and ideological contributor to the Scrum community. I consider him my personal mentor in all things Agile.
Lyssa Adkins
Lyssa Adkins
She has been responsible for some of my most profound insights into people as they adopt Scrum and how to help them do it. She wrote an absolutely awesome book everyone should read called Coaching Agile Teams, which I cannot recommend highly enough.
